Empowering Innovation with AWS: How BS23 Transformed Abra’s IoT Management
Abra, a Norwegian manufacturer specializing in wireless safety products and IoT technology, faced challenges in managing their extensive IoT device network. With deep expertise in electronics, product development, and manufacturing, Abra serves marine, residential, commercial, and outdoor markets. However, they needed a unified platform to efficiently monitor and manage IoT devices across multiple homes and buildings.
Customer Profile
Abra is a leading developer and manufacturer of high-end electronics, IoT, and mechatronics systems. They leverage extensive in-house capabilities and collaborate with top-class partners to bring complex systems from the concept stage through to manufacturing and distribution, ensuring a world-class customer experience.
Challenges
Abra struggled to manage multiple IoT devices across different locations, lacking a centralized platform for efficient monitoring.
Although they had solutions for individual devices, overseeing entire networks of homes and buildings under different associations proved challenging. Abra sought a comprehensive solution to empower end-users with a large-scale software platform that could monitor multiple homes from one central interface.
Solution
BS23 developed a smart, web-based solution called ABRA, designed for large-scale use, enabling both IoT device companies and their end-users to manage and monitor devices effectively. The solution offers an intuitive user experience with a sleek, mobile-responsive front-end design. ABRA simplifies the management of IoT devices across different homes and buildings by providing a robust dashboard for association administrators. This dashboard allows administrators to create new associations, register buildings and homes, and invite homeowners to monitor their devices via a single mobile app. The platform also enables remote connectivity of device hubs and real-time status monitoring, ensuring efficient management across multiple locations.
The solution was built using the Vue framework, creating a versatile client-side application. Additionally, the use of various AWS services, including IAM Permission, Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, SES, S3, CloudFront, DynamoDB, Cognito, IoT Core, Amplify, AppSync, CloudWatch, and Route 53, provided a scalable and secure infrastructure.
